Applause for John Lennon’s Glasses
A Great Read! Highly recommend.
What a great read! Once you start you can’t put it down, especially if you are of that time and from that area which we are. It perfectly describes the mood, feelings, hope for the future and dedication to “making the world a better place” through music, art, peace, love and community.
Both Jim and Kathy Ocean have dedicated their lives to bringing people together through music events for decades. They practice what they preach. Jim’s music has never lost the message of a kind and fair world, even though it can be discouraging, especially now.
Some would say the 1960’s failed, but we say the decade brought a wonderful few people who still believe in love, peace, diversity, healing through music and art and real communication and fearless vulnerability.
If you still believe in this you will love the adventure Jim takes you on in this imaginary trip through days past, present and, hopefully, a better future for all.

Admiration for John Lennon
Bravo. Sure kept my attention. I personally loved the humor and the art filled passages of love and admiration for a genius such as f John Lennon! Such clever idea and the writing flows freely from one page to the next. I think this book makes nice presents for any Beatles fans. I’m getting one for several friends for their birthdays! I’m sure it will bring a smile to their faces. Congratulations to the authors!!
Definitely for Music Lovers
First of all, I adore the main character, Jimmy. He’s a singer chasing something deeper than fame, trying to write music that actually means something. As a huge music buff (particularly a big Beatles fan) I loved how the book mixes real Beatles history with fun, surreal fiction, especially the parts where John and George are chatting in heaven. The ending is so perfect, and it made me really happy to see Jimmy find his place, both in music and life. If you love music-themed stories with a little heart and imagination, definitely check this one out.

I absolutely loved reading “John Lennon’s Glasses.” As someone who hopes to write a book myself, I never would have thought of taking a legendary figure such as John Lennon and including something iconic about them, such as his glasses and centering it around a struggling songwriter/musician. It is such an interest concept altogether, and I truly loved seeing the relationship between the spirit John Lennon and Jimmy Drake come to life.

A inspiring and dream reaching book
“John Lennon’s Glasses is a fantastic book with many different musical involvements in the book. I loved the main character who starts the book with saying All You Need is Love that John Lennon sang about was not true. I needed to read on at that point. The main character is a singer who is trying to find someone who will buy his music, about universal love which I as a reader believe wholeheartedly in. I love how Jimmy is trying to write music for the future of humanity and not just to make a quick buck. I also quite loved how the author placed facts and fiction involving John Lennon and the Beatles in this book. And how John and George were speaking in heaven was inspiring. I have a few old time people who I would love to see that happen with. I loved the ending of this book and was so glad that Jimmy found his happy ending with music and also in an unexpected place. And the research the author did was truly factual and fictional! I really like the writing style of Jim and Kathy Ocean. Jim has a contagious humor weaved throughout this magical story and Kathy keeps it grounded with facts and a kicking playlist. I recommend this book to those who like a story with a music theme.”
