About the Blog

SUBDUCTION ZONE DEFINED:

In the study of geological oceanography, a subduction zone describes the area where older and newer tectonic plates either slide past each other, move apart from each other, or crash into each other, causing the planet’s most powerful earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions.

The Subduction Zone Blog is an exploration and celebration of the “human subduction zone” as experienced through Jim & Kathy Ocean’s music, writing and other musings.
